One of the luckiest things that can happen to you in life is, I think, to have a happy childhood.
This sweet little three and a half year old is my daughter Charlotte. Every half year between my children’s birthdays I try and have a styled session with them. I have had this “Little Librarian” session planned for weeks. But due to sickness we had to wait a couple of months. But the perk to waiting is that when we shot this session last Tuesday it was 71 degrees! So we even got a few of Charlotte running and playing outside, which I love. Because basically that is what childhood is all about, being carefree and playful.
Styled Childhood Sessions are one of my favorite things to shoot. It is fun to add the element of creativity to a basic Childhood Session. This also provides a fun activity for the child and holds their attention longer. If you think you might be interested in a session feel free to contact me. I would love to match your session to fit the special personality of your child.
This lovely family are the Dentes. They are very sweet family friends. My son Liam and their Gavin were in Sunday School, Preschool and on the same soccer team last year. So we got to see a lot of them which was so fun.
They took advantage of my mini sessions last November. You can’t tell, but it was under 30 degrees! The beautiful sunset that evening made up for the cold temperatures.
This sweet little family are the Connons. They took advantage of my mini session weekend this past October. This is the first time I got to meet little Valentina. She was a little unsure about the crazy lady with stuffed animals on her head taking her pictures! Her older brother Bear and sister Isa were so sweet to their little sister. They remind me so much of my three being so close to the same ages. And Jon and Erin are always so sweet and such a pleasure to work with. Such a beautiful family.
This precious family are the Carmanys. They are dear friends of mine. I met Laura in a Mom’s group, which we still attend together, at our church four years ago. We instantly connected because my Liam and her Josiah were close to the same ages. Then, we both got pregnant again at the same time with Charlotte and Nate. Josiah just started Kindergarten as did Liam. It is so cute watching the kiddos grow up together. I count myself lucky to have such a sweet friend who is going through life at the same stage as I am.
Matt and Laura are also the proud owners of The Wholesome Hive. Matt is in charge of the beekeeping part of the business. And Laura has developed a line of high-quality, body and home care products. She has created these products from their honey, beeswax and other all natural ingredients. I love their products! Especially the lip balm. Check it out via the link above.
For the Carmanys session I wanted to use their love of honey making as a part of telling their family’s personal story. All the “props” used in the session are personal items from the family. I wanted to let their family’s personality shine. And by capturing the genuine love and affection they have for each other I think I have.
This beautiful little family are Tiffanie and Noah. Tiffanie wanted spring flowers to be incorporated in the background, so we picked F. A Seiberling Nature Realm in Akron. I absolutely love shooting there. Every inch of it is gorgeous!
Noah is such a little ham. I think he giggled through his entire session. I love the value Tiffanie places on family photos. She has them taken in the fall and in the spring. Children grow up so quickly, it’s so important to remember them in each little stage. It was such pleasure working with these two again.
It was so nice getting to work with this family. Not only because they were all so kind, but because they live just down the street from me! Since I live in Louisville I usually am traveling 30-60 minutes to take photographs. So this was a treat!
We were a little unsure of how the little ones would hold up in the cold. Even though we’ve had an usually mild winter so far, it just so happened to be 27 degrees, windy and snowing on Saturday. We had to take multiple breaks to warm up the little guys but it was well worth it. Part of the family lives out of state, so it was a special occasion for everyone to be together to get photographed.
Check out this gorgeous family I had the privilege of photographing. It is always a challenge when the leaves fall to find scenic locations. But this little spot along a horse trail at Quail Hollow was beautiful. And the early morning sun was a perfect compliment.
This is the Elmerick, Kandel, Kracker families. We were lucky to find a little bit of color left in November. This session took place in one of the daughters’ backyard. I love when I get to shoot at my client’s homes. It is so much more personal and easier on everyone. And we were also blessed with nice weather. Although 9 am is very early to get a family ready to go, the light is so beautiful that time of day. It was a pleasure working with this family with all of those sweet little girls.
I photographed Jason and Marie’s wedding a few weeks ago. We didn’t get a chance to squeeze in their engagement session before the wedding. So I made an exception and allowed them to replace it with a family session with little Owen after the wedding. It was so much fun because we’ve already gotten to know each other during the wedding. And even though we had to dodge raindrops the trees were so vibrant it made for a beautiful backdrop.
